Okay, so here’s this whirlwind of info that ping-ponged around my brain about this video game, “End of Abyss.” Picture this: Section 9 Interactive, those zany developers who’ve given birth to things like Little Nightmares and its sequel (and they tinkered with LittleBigPlanet PS VITA, by the way), they’re now shaking hands with Epic Games. What’s the big hoo-ha about? They unveiled this mind-bending sci-fi horror survival game at the Summer Game Fest 2025. I don’t usually get all jittery over game expos, but hey, this one seemed worth it.
Slide into the game, and you’re looking at a chaotic cocktail of body horror and eerie vibe exploration, all wrapped in a smooth top-down FPS format. Maybe you’re into those comparisons folks are making — like what, Inside and Little Nightmares? People always gotta compare, huh? Is it gonna creep us out the same way? Who knows.
Interestingly enough, Section 9 has roots sprouting all over horror gamespace (just meandering here…) because their debut was during the Summer Game Fest chock-full of surprises. Like, bam! Next Resident Evil game drop, and oh, a sprinkle of indie horror gems. But what really snagged eyeballs was this offering that, I dunno, felt like it had its own twisty take on horror.
Oh, and don’t get me started on the trailer (or do! It’s kinda neat). It plops you into the shoes of Cel, our brave combat technician, bumbling her way through some freaky underground digs. She’s got mysteries to uncover and creatures to whack — or so they say, nothing’s human. It screams exploration, but also, you’ve gotta tinker with some gear, probably to survive the funkiness down there. Expect a release on PC via Epic Games Store and consoles in 2026. It sounds distant, but time flies, right?
Anyway, can’t deny that people are buzzing, making predictions, drawing lines between this and games like Inside. It’s either fascinating or just another buzz to them — branching pathways, hidden areas, sign me up! And, of course, wishlist it on Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store if you’re feeling the hype.
Generally speaking, horror games are having a moment — from the remake of Silent Hill 2 to quirky hits like Poppy Playtime. And here’s “End of Abyss” trying to carve out its own space among the upcoming lineup. Look forward to a launch packed with skin-crawling adventure come 2026. Can’t wait to see how it shakes out. 🎮
