Alright, so I was watching this thing about Resident Evil Requiem in Capcom’s June showcase. Everyone was buzzing about it. I guess we kinda got a peek at it? But not the full-throttle gameplay everyone wanted. Real bummer.
They did spill some beans about why Capcom’s shaking things up with this sequel, but not sure if it all made sense. Anyway—wait, where was I? Right, the Requiem segment was kinda meh because they did it like one of those developer diary videos. Bits of gameplay here and there, lots of faces talking at you.
One cool thing, though: they finally solved the mystery of Grace. She’s connected to the Ashcroft family from Resident Evil Outbreak. And if you’re thinking the game was gonna be all about the Winters family again, nope. Capcom’s diving back into the Raccoon City saga. Makes sense with the big 3-0 anniversary coming up. Perfect timing, right?
But hey, why didn’t they just slap Leon Kennedy into Requiem, especially with his history and all? Turns out, they wanted someone who could actually get scared—Leon isn’t exactly that guy. So, enter Grace Ashcroft, who’s apparently more like us players (totally inexperienced). But she does have some FBI skills, so there’s that. Not your everyday rookie.
Oh, and there’s a twist: you can play the game in both first and third-person views. Capcom’s choice wasn’t because of that third-person Resident Evil Village DLC but because they noticed folks tend to pick one view and run with it.
Resident Evil Requiem’s dropping on February 27, 2026. It’s gonna be on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Can’t wait to get scared out of my wits!
