Oh boy, here we go again. So, Nintendo Switch 2 is about to drop in like, a week, maybe? But Nintendo’s been all mysterious about it—feeding us details bit by bit. Tuesday, on this Nintendo Today app, they let something slip. Some fresh features are coming to the Nintendo Switch Online stuff. We’re talking about making those N64 games more… hmm, forgiving? And, wait for it, super nostalgic. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
So, rewind. Literally! Imagine you’re about to nail that crazy jump in some platformer, but nope, you totally beef it. Or, oh man, remember Mario Kart 64? Flying off the track was my special move. But now, mess up and just hit rewind. Problem solved.
Oh, and those CRT filters? They’re back. Slap on some scan-lines, and bam! It’s like 1998 all over again. Pretty neat, if you ask me. Makes Zelda look kinda like it used to, all retro and whatnot. Not sure why that makes me so happy, but it does.
Now, the twist! These goodies are only for Switch 2. But hold up, original Switch folks aren’t totally out. Both can now fiddle with button mappings for N64 games. Joy-Cons? Yep. Nintendo 64 controller too? Totally. Just a little mix and match, you know?
So yeah, just some random ramblings about Switch 2. Honestly, who knows what they’ll reveal next? Guess I’ll keep an eye on that app, just in case…
