Okay, so picture this: “NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound” just pops up on the scene – we’re talking pixel-crazy, side-scrolling action. The Game Kitchen and DotEmu out here doing their thing, right? So, our guy Ryu Hayabusa heads to America because, you know, family stuff. Meanwhile, chaos back home – human and demon worlds just mash-up like, out of nowhere. Hayabusa Village? Yeah, not having a good time.
Enter Kenji Mozu, young ninja with probably a lot of stress dreams. And, yeah, he hooks up with the Black Spider Clan. Makes me think of high school group projects that shouldn’t work but kinda do. Kumori, some top-tier assassin, jumps in. All this happening parallel to the old-school “NINJA GAIDEN.” Wild.
I remember playing “Blasphemous 2,” also from The Game Kitchen – such a trip. Anyway, back to this one. You’re in control using the left stick or D-Pad. Jump with X, slice stuff with Square. Pretty classic. It’s all about that precision – like dodging fireballs, or in my case, avoiding stepping on LEGO bricks at home.
Oh, and there’s this cool guillotine boost with L1 or X mid-air. Adds that extra zip, you know? Kumori can throw Kunai too, so, we’re talking distance attacks. Jump into combat or just dodge and weave. Got me thinking about those Saturday morning cartoons.
Boss fights? All about strategy. Get enemies in vulnerable states, zap that aura, go hypercharge – sounds like a candy flavor or superpower. A boss fight is a bit like trying to win an argument with my stubborn old uncle – gotta take ’em down when they’re dizzy.
Then, smack dab in the middle of demon fights, they’re like, “Hey, collect stuff!” You dodge spikes, ninja flip over fires, just to grab shiny collectibles. Like shopping but with more danger. Enter Muramasa’s shop – sounds mundane, but here, cash in those Scarabs for better gear. Talismans to boost health or restore it at checkpoints, handy little life hacks.
And gotta love trophies. Means I’m achieving something, right? Bronze, silver, gold, and the prized Platinum. Just involve yourself in all sorts of game activities – talk to a Demon Altar, visit shops, play without the sassy little thing called dying.
The game drops tomorrow, and at 25 bucks for both PS4 and PS5 versions, it’s like getting an extra donut when you ordered just one – rare but oh so sweet. And if you’re into tweaking settings, hit up the accessibility options. Adjust game speed, control damage, all that jazz. So there you have it folks, a chaotic yet stunning mix-up of demon slaying and slick ninja chaos, all for your gaming pleasure.
Anyway — oh, that’s right, the review. It all came from a PS5 copy given by DotEmu. Just thought I’d mention it. Pretty cool, huh?
