It seems there’s been a hitch in the anticipated launch schedule for NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 series GPUs. Initially, these GPUs were slated to debut in March with availability in April. However, insiders are now saying they’ll arrive later than expected.
Just as we gear up for the unveiling of the GeForce RTX 5070, whispers about delays for the RTX 5060 series have surfaced. The original plan had the RTX 5060 series gracing the market in March, but fresh reports suggest a further postponement.
While specifics remain murky, Board Channels indicate that NVIDIA has informed all their board partners of this development. It’s not set in stone yet since NVIDIA themselves haven’t made an official announcement regarding the RTX 5060 release. Previous rumors hinted at bugs and supply chain troubles causing these setbacks, but without NVIDIA’s confirmation, it’s still hearsay.
A memo reportedly went out to all AIC partners, detailing the situation: the launch of both the RTX 5060 Ti and 5060 series is delayed. NVIDIA has hinted at a new timeline—mid-April for the RTX 5060 Ti 16G/8G series, and mid-May for the RTX 5060 series. Any official word on the exact launch dates is yet to be disclosed, even to NVIDIA’s partners.
Interestingly, these delays might set up a showdown with AMD’s RX 9060 series GPUs. AMD is poised to roll out the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060, each offering 8 GB and 16 GB variants, which would stand toe-to-toe with NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti options. AMD’s lineup is also speculated to make its debut in the second quarter, so there’s potential for these two giants to clash on the launch stage.
Speaking of specs, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, as a follow-up to the RTX 4060 Ti, is expected to showcase 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 180W. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 aims to take over from the RTX 4060, featuring 3840 CUDA Cores and 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM with a TDP of 150W. Recently, a rumor about a 12 GB VRAM version of the RTX 5060 cropped up, which could potentially outdo the RX 9060 as AMD’s offering is anticipated to stick with an 8 GB variant.
So, as we await further updates from NVIDIA, the gaming community remains on the edge of its seat, eager to see these new players enter the GPU arena.
