THQ Nordic’s 2025 Showcase, huh? It just wrapped up, and boy, did they throw a lot at us. I mean, where do I even start? Maybe with Tides of Tomorrow, Spongebob Squarepants: Titans of the Tide, or that Gothic 1 Remake. Yeah, let’s dive in.
So, the folks at Tarsier, who you might remember for Little Nightmares I & II, introduced some horror thingy called Reanimal. Okay, picture this: siblings with no parents, trying not to die in some weird game-like world with monsters. Sounds like my last game night. They’re pushing this online and couch co-op stuff — like, who knew surviving horror could be a group activity?
And then there’s Spongebob! Pre-ordering’s open for Spongebob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide. Patrick and Spongebob teaming up, music by David Hasselhoff — yes, you read that right. Ever wanted to switch between those two characters? Well, now you can. Plus, there are collector’s bundles that feature, of all things, keychains and patches. I guess every fan’s dream? Maybe.
Switching gears a bit, THQ Nordic seems obsessed with role-playing games. They’re remaking Gothic 1. Apparently, it’s quite the love affair for those at Alkimia Interactive. Oh, and they’ve dropped a Gothic 1 Remake demo today. No spoilers, just vibes. Well, except this in-your-face prologue that isn’t going to be in the final game. Go figure.
Then there’s the Eternal Life of Goldman. What a name! It’s a platformer — vibrant but dark, asking you to be precise or else. You know, Goldman out here with deep plots, making everyone rethink their platformers.
And hey, if you’ve missed Wreckfest, rejoice. BugBear Entertainment is onto Wreckfest 2, promising to bend your car without bending your wallet. If you thought realistic damage models were cool, they’re back, bringing chaos to your screen. PS5 in 2026. Can’t wait to crash and burn all over again.
Titan Quest II is back on the menu as well — ARPG lovers, where you at? Ancient Greece, mythical beasts, no class restrictions. Finally, someone gets how indecisive gamers are. Hack, slash, and loot — it’s all there, promising a return worth waiting for.
Oh, and Burnout fans should perk up. Wreckreation combines arcade racing with the freedom to change everything—literally. Race over a dino’s head or build your track. It’s like your racing dreams came true, with a wild “Game DJ” to mix it up. Coming soon to PS5.
Anyway, I’m not sure what your jam is, but THQ Nordic is trying to cover all bases. Overwhelmed or intrigued, there’s definitely something in there for every gamer. See you at Gamescom?
