The big Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4 livestream happened today, right on time. You know, whenever there’s a new update in the HoYoverse realm, everyone’s buzzing about the fresh characters. And guess what? Yup, they showed off the new characters coming soon to this crazy popular RPG.
Okay, here’s the scoop. The big deal is this Fate/stay night collab event that’s about to drop. They first spilled the beans about this mashup between Star Rail and the iconic fantasy visual novel Fate/stay night back in August last year. That was around the same time the visual novel finally got an English version and some fancy upgrades. People knew it’d be a bit before the crossover would hit, and after almost a year, we’re getting there.

So, about these new characters in Version 3.4—we’re seeing Saber. Yeah, the Saber from Fate. She’s gonna be a 5-Star Wind/Destruction character with her own banner. And Archer, another 5-Star, Quantum/Hunt type, will be free for anyone logging into HSR during the event. They’re sticking around longer than usual since the collab spans from Version 3.4 to the end of 3.6, which wraps up in November. Feels like forever, but also not?
And then there’s Phainon. If you’ve been playing since Version 3.0, you met him on Amphoreus. Finally, he’s playable! He’s joining the gang as another 5-Star with a Physical/Destruction kit. These collab characters do their own thing outside the normal banner schedules, so they’re all here right from the start.
But wait—six rerun banners are coming too! Tribbie, Sunday, and Sparkle will pop up in Phase 1, then Firefly, Jingliu, and Blade roll in for Phase 2. So yeah, no new characters in that second wave, but with all these reruns, it’s hard to whine about it.
And hey, the Stellaron Hunters? They’re getting some cool updates too! Battle mechanics and Eidolon effects are being buffed for Kafka, Silver Wolf, and Blade. Firefly’s getting a slick new outfit. Like, imagine Jingliu’s kit getting a revamp—makes you wonder if she’ll side with Elio’s shady squad of mercenaries. That could stir things up!
