Man, so Microsoft’s doing this thing—like, bringing all your PC games into one place on the Xbox app. It’s for those in the Xbox Insiders group right now, and will eventually show up on the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds. Weirdly enough, I got really excited seeing all my games listed in one spot, kind of like having your own personal library. You know what I mean?
So, they’re starting with a few: Battle.net, EA, and Riot Games. EA and Riot are sort of there already ’cause of Game Pass, so it’s not exactly groundbreaking. But hey, Battle.net is in. I mean, they’re promising more will join the party—fingers crossed for Steam and Epic Games. Can you imagine the chaos?
Anyhow, if they pull this off, it’ll feel like gaming utopia. Console players have had this forever, right? All your games hanging out together. GoG Galaxy kind of does this already, but since Xbox is practically married to Windows 11, the Xbox app might be where everyone gravitates.
This whole thing shows Microsoft’s been tweaking Xbox into more of a service than just that box with controllers. Like, when Game Pass came, it was big for both PC and Xbox. Now with this, plus all these Xbox handheld PCs popping up, you can see the trajectory, can’t you? Not to mention, adding Xboxy things into Windows? It’s like they’re silently world-building.
So when will all PCs get this aggregating glory? Microsoft didn’t say specifically. But, with the ROG Ally getting it during the holidays, yeah, maybe we’ll see something broader by year’s end or 2026. Who knows?
