Alright, so picture this: another Summer Game Fest in the books, and guess what? I actually made it out to LA this time. Who would’ve thought? Managed to check out, oh, I dunno, about two dozen games — give or take. Yeah, a wild mix. From those quirky little indie ones nobody’s heard of to the super hyped AAA titles that everyone’s buzzing about.
Honorable Mentions
Here’s the deal: some games were like this secret club, only certain folks got to peek behind closed doors. I mean, really… no hands-on action for us. And others? More cinematic than gameplay. You know, the kind where you’re just sitting there watching cutscenes. But hey, they were cool enough to mention, even with the limited access.
Resident Evil Requiem – Capcom’s cranking out some intense vibes with this one. Seriously, the atmosphere is thick with tension. "Addictive fear" they say. Ha! Can’t wait to freak out in Raccoon City again. First or third-person view? You take your pick.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword – Okay, so even if ‘Onimusha’ doesn’t ring a bell for you, this game’s worth a glance. It’s got this whole Japanese folklore vibe and epic looking combat. I just hope Capcom shows us more before 2026. Seems like ages away.
Directive 8020 – Got hands-on with this one from The Dark Pictures Anthology. Limited gameplay, but those stealth-action bits? Had me sweating. And folks, check out our in-depth look at this on ComingSoon, if you’re into detailed previews and whatnot.
Bandit Trap
Now, here’s where my love for the Wii U and goofy multiplayer games comes in. Bandit Trap feels like someone smashed a cartoon into Home Alone. You get to play as thieves or this lone mastermind setting up traps. Pure chaos, but there’s charm in that.
Crimson Desert
I gotta be honest here, the name Crimson Desert doesn’t do it for me. Like, generic much? Still, once you dive into it, the game’s like a mix of The Witcher meets Zelda… sorta. Sword fights, magic, and yeah, even a paraglider thing. Just be ready to wrestle — literally and figuratively — with enemies. It’s a whole chaotic cooking pot of RPG madness.
Deadpool VR
Imagine my excitement seeing Deadpool VR. Finally, a Deadpool game that’s worth its jokes. Filled with fourth-wall shattering humor and pretty smooth gameplay. Neil Patrick Harris as Deadpool? Yep, it works. Fingers crossed it hops to PlayStation VR2 soon.
Dosa Divas
Ah, here’s food and RPG mixed into one, based on sisterly bonds, of course. You’ve got a Paper Mario vibe going with some killer dialogue. Plus, you’re makin’ dosas! What’s not to love? Cultural cooking vibes all around.
FBC: Firebreak
Yes, yes, another shooter. But let’s see what sets it apart. Remedy Entertainment’s planned something mid-priced (Hallelujah for non-microtransaction madness). Plus, it’s in the same world as Control — and you fight sticky notes! Seriously, sticky notes! June 17th can’t come soon enough.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion
One of the highlights. Sadly, I can’t spill the beans just yet. Stay tuned on ComingSoon.net, where we’ll drop all the details once the bigwigs give us the green light.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound
Move over, Ryu! This time, it’s all about Kenji Mozu. Think old-school arcade slash ‘em ups. If speedrunning’s your game, you’ll probably love it. Expect it July 31st!
Pragmata
It’s been, what, five years? But Capcom has Pragmata back on the rails. Missions have you hacking bots mid-fight — yeah, while dodging bullets. Kinda like Pipe Mania meets action shooter. Count me in with a futuristic shotgun.
Ratatan
Missed the PlayStation Portable wave, so Patapon didn’t hit my radar back in the day. Ratatan picks up where it left off, though. It’s musical and tactical, and hey, you get this army of little critters all synced to your commands. Total cuteness overload, and yet mighty.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
Just when I thought I’d chilled after Elden Ring, Wuchang pulled me right into the chaos. Totally deceived by the beauty of it—a true Soulslike. Timing and dodging, it’s a whole rhythm you have to master. Took me 30 minutes to find my groove, but there it was. Worth every frustrating second.
Anyway, there you have it — my raw, unpolished take on this crazy gaming parade. Here’s to more adventures and maybe a bit more gaming sanity next year. Or not. Who’s keeping track, really?
