Sure thing, here it is:
So, get this. When was the last time you heard anything about Black Ops 7? I swear, it feels like ages. Activision dropped this tiny teaser back in June. Remember that? Just a hint of it during the Xbox Showcase and poof — radio silence.
They did say more info was coming our way this summer, though. But did they mark it on any calendar? Nope. Just left us hanging.
Anyway, now it’s July. The middle of it actually. Over a month since we first got a peek at Black Ops 7. And finally, we hear that August is the month to watch. But here’s the kicker — the game’s gonna debut again at gamescom Opening Night Live. Write that down: Tuesday, August 19. It’s just another item in the lineup, but hey, it’s something. You can catch it live at 11am PT, 2pm ET, 7pm if you’re in the UK. Time zones, am I right?
Here’s what’s weird though: Call of Duty titles usually get this huge, standalone reveal event with all the bells and whistles. They’re like the celebrities of game launches. Having them pop up at gamescom instead feels, I dunno, different.
What we’ll actually see on August 19? Your guess is as good as mine. Could be just a snippet. Could be a whole walkthrough. And maybe, just maybe, they’ll drop a more extensive showcase by late August or September. Right before the beta drops? Hopefully.
The near-future setting is back! Co-op campaign too! And fans are clamoring for some kind of thread connecting Black Ops 6 with this new adventure. Makes sense they’d make a big fuss about it ahead of time.
Oh, and by the way, no release date yet. But November’s the month everyone’s betting on. Get ready to play it on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S. All the major platforms are in on it.
And there you have it. We wait, we hope, we speculate. Typical gaming world saga, right?
