Oh man, so Nintendo just dropped a new update for Super Mario Party Jamboree. Yup, version 2.1.0. Not gonna lie, I didn’t see this coming. Maybe you did? I was too busy trying to remember if I watered my plants this morning. Anyway, this update is out and it’s doing a few things, mainly prepping for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. And, y’know, the usual bug fixes… cause hey, nothing’s perfect, right?
Let’s talk about what’s new when you play on the Nintendo Switch 2. First off, general vibes — okay maybe not vibes, but like, tech stuff. Bug fixes to be exact.
So, there was this bug. No, not the creepy crawly kind, though I nearly stepped on a spider while writing this… Yikes! Sorry, where was I? Oh yeah, there was a bug in the game where, during Broozer Bash, if you stared at the rules screen too long, the game just kinda felt like taking a nap. Fixing that now, thank goodness.
And in the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, they squashed another bug where you’d skip something during video sessions and suddenly you’re just stuck in limbo. Like, what was that all about? Also, if you unplugged cameras at weird times in the game, chaos happened. Not the fun kind, either… oh wait, maybe for some it was fun? Depends on your perspective, I guess.
They also got the camera face position sorted out. No idea if they consulted a photographer or just a really techy person. CPU movements in mouse minigames got a tune-up — probably because they were going rogue or something.
Playing online is smoother too, supposedly. You tell me. Though I did manage to spill coffee everywhere the last time I tried playing online. A real mess, lemme tell you. Okay, focus.
And for the regular Nintendo Switch players, hang tight, you’re getting fixes too. Like, if you hit “Play Again” after Rhythm Kitchen, and the entire game just gives up — yeah, they patched that. Also, some CPU glitch in Mario’s Rainbow Castle is sorted. Not as magical as it sounds. Oh, and the stamps thing during Mario Party — guess they were misbehaving under specific conditions. Fun puzzles they almost didn’t want to fix!
So, overall, it’s a lot of smoothing out the rough edges. But hey, maybe it’ll make those late-night gaming sessions just a bit less chaotic. But chaos is half the fun, right? At least when it’s not the kind that makes you throw your controller. Cheers to less chaos? Or more… who knows.
